Any of my friends will tell you that I am constantly searching for new books to read. I love all kinds of books {besides romance and specifically social and political ones} and am always looking for something new and interesting to read. Well, lately I've been terrible at actually sitting down and reading them so I thought I'd make a list of ones that I've been meaning to read. Maybe this will encourage me to read more.
- Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts
- Welcome to the Monkey House by Kurt Vonnegut
- On the Road by Jack Kerouac
- Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide by Nicholas D. Kristof & Sheryl WuDunn
- The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold {still trying to decide if I actually want to read this one}
- When Everything Changed: The Amazing Journey of American women from 1960 to the Present by Gail Collins
- Working by Studs Terkel
- Sarah's Key by Tatiana de Rosnay
- Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury
- Lord of the Flies by William Golding
- Choke by Chuck Palahniuk
- Angela's Ashes by Frank McCourt
- Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse
- The Angel's Game by Carlos Ruiz Zafón
This is just a start, I'm sure.
Fahrenheit 451 was one of my favorite books from high school. I've actually been thinking about rereading it because I think it's worth a second look.
ReplyDeleteThe Lovely Bones is on my list too. I might go see the movie this weekend, though, which is sort of a sin. It looks really good, though.
shantaram is the best. i can't decide if i should bring it with me, but risk losing it, or leave it here and not be able to read it for two years. tricky.
