little gracie is one

my good friend's daughter turned one this past weekend. it was a big day. you've heard the phrase "it seems like just yesterday" a million times, but it really does. i remember when she was so tiny that it scared me to hold her, when she could barely hold her head up, but now she's walking and showing her fiery little personality.

no wonder why her mom started to cry as she blew out the birthday candles. i'm getting a little emotional just thinking about it and i'm just an "auntie.'

the party was a hit. the owl theme was absolutely adorable and the cake incredible. i'm not sure the birthday girl really knew what was going on, but she sure was happy for all of the attention.

New Kitchen Favorites

I just bought new sets of wine and martini glasses.

Unfortunately, they're going to sit in my closet for a while until I find a new apartment. I can't wait to have a sophisticated dinner or cocktail party so I can use them.

Easter Eggs and Family Parties

I had a great Easter weekend with family, it was great to get almost everyone together. I have such a big family that can get tough.

I brought my new camera to take pictures of family. My favorite photo is of my cousin Maxwell playing with binoculars outside.

Vintage Shops and Theme Parties

A couple days ago, my friend and I spent the afternoon thrifting in Wicker Park. I love finding old vintage clothes and home decor. Some of the shops had really cute, old items but some were just a little too new and funky for me. I did find a shrug to wear to a black and white party I have coming up soon though.

I have to find a cute shop that has more vintage clothes and jewelry from the 40s. I love the way people dressed back then. My sister is planning a 1950s prom party that I'm really excited for. Now, I just have to find a dress.
