Happy Weekend

Usually at this point of the week I’m sitting at work dying for 3pm to come around and for my weekend to start. Not today. Today I’m off so my weekend started last night. Yay! I’m glad to have some time off before the craziness of this weekend though, I’m going to need a bit of rest. Last night, my friends and I spent the night watching Tim McGraw on stage; tonight, I’m tailgating with about 50 others for the Brewers/Twins game at Miller Park {Go Brewers!}; tomorrow, I’m spending the entire day with my cousin’s 1 year old daughter and 3 year old son; and Sunday, a little work and a little golf. I’m really excited for this weekend, but I’m already tired just thinking about it!

Hope you all have great weekends!

bye bye weekend

sometimes weekends are just bittersweet. they're so completely perfect that it's sad to see them pass. while this is the case for most weekends, this time monday hit just a bit harder.

this amazing weekend was chock-full of friends, family, picnics, a trip back to college days, embarrassing stories of childhood, the most delicious fish fry EVER, a debate over miller lite vs. bud light, visitors from out of state, long conversations during even longer car rides, intense volleyball games, a graduation party and little sleep. a-maz-ing.

while i always need time to recover, i enjoy these busy weekends. now, it's back to the grind of work. can't wait for next weekend, i have big plans.

Happy Monday

Happy Monday! I had an absolutely wonderful weekend, I hope you did too.

One of my best friends from middles school is getting married in less than a month so we threw her a sweet, simple bridal shower on Saturday. There was a lot a lot of preparation and some nerves that it wouldn’t turn out as well as planned, but it did. And she was so happy throughout. Plus, it’s always good to catch up with old friends. Speaking of which, I got quite a few emails and texts from friends I haven’t seen in a while. {The perfect way to make me smile. I’ll have to try to keep in touch with them better from now on, but that always seems like a goal of mine.}

happy long weekend

i'm heading up to my old college town {arguably the best college town in the country}, madison, wisc., for the long weekend. plans so far include watching the madison marathon {watching, definitely not running}, grabbing lunch at my favorite restaurant in madison: mediterranean cafe, sitting on the terrace with friends and a pitcher of spotted cow, memorial day picnics and going to brat fest {yes, brat fest. delicious}. and my "cousin" is back from south carolina for the weekend so it'll be great to see him. such a busy weekend, i'm loving it already!

have a great memorial day weekend!

happy friday

the weekend is finally here. thank god.

it took so long i wasn't sure i was going to make it. so now it's time to relax, enjoy the break, sleep in... oh wait, i have to wake up at 4am tomorrow. {so much for sleeping in.} my friends and i are meeting a little after 5am to drive to minnesota for a baseball game {against the brewers}, though we also plan on soaking in all things minnesota. i'm thinking maybe a trip to the mall of america, the zoo, canterbury park race track or maybe a cute restaurant features on diners, drive-ins and dives. i suppose we'll figure that out when we get to it. i'm just hoping for beautiful weather since the twins finally have a real outdoor baseball diamond and not a dome.

tonight, i'm going to try to go to bed early and get a few hours of sleep in before the trip.

happy weekend to all!

happy monday

it's strange, but i'm actually excited that it's monday. maybe because i'm finally feeling better after a weekend in bed with a box of kleenex and cup of tea. or maybe because i have an exciting weekend coming up.

at least before i got sick, i was able to spend the night with great friends. my friend hannah drove up from memphis, complete with a fancy new southern accent, for the weekend. we all met at the water street brewery in delafield for dinner and a hand-crafted home brew. {my favorite is the honey lager light.} it was great to catch up with friends and make future plans that i am really excited about!

i also got to spend time with this cutie.

happy weekend

this has been such a rough week, i really need the weekend.

i'm excited for my busy weekend.... dinner out with family, my friend's daughter's first birthday {a huge day for the both of them}, shopping with my best friend, dinner and drinks with friends for a moving-away party, brunch date and maybe even a little golf thrown in there.

what are you up to this weekend?

happy weekend

hope you all have a fantastic weekend! i know i will.

my weekend is going to get a bit busy: dinner plans with family on friday, spending all day saturday with friends in chicago {one of my best friends from college, who currently lives in memphis, is in for the day. i'm so excited to hang out, chat, eat and, of course, shop.}, then as soon as i get back from chicago, it's off to new york with maggie and patrick. it's sure to be an amazing time. a lot of commuting, but an amazing time. i'm sure sunday will involve lots of unpacking and probably a little exploring {i hope we don't get lost}. i'm excited!

i'll tell you later all about poughkeepsie and the trip.

happy monday

Luckily, my normal 'case of the Mondays' isn't as bad today as it usually is. I think it's because I had such a great weekend and have another to look forward to in just a few short days.

I spent Saturday afternoon in Chicago with friends {Sam flew in from Denver for the weekend}. We ate lunch at an amazing Indian buffet, which was perfect because I'm on a crazy Indian food kick lately. {I've been averaging twice a week.} After lunch, we met some other friends for coffee at Metropolis on Granville in Edgewater. I heard many great things about the shop and I'm so happy it lived up to expectations. I had such a lovely time talking with friends that I don't get a chance to see often, I loved it. I was also able to squeeze in a little shopping on Michigan Ave and at Water Tower Place mall before heading home.

Actually, I didn't go home. I went straight to downtown Milwaukee on Water St. to celebrate another friend's birthday. We went to Bootleggers {where I swear I saw Mario Batali of Iron Chef America fame} and then caught a show at Comedy Sportz. It was a fun but very crazy day.

Sunday afternoon, my sister and brother-in-law had a going away get together with lots of family and friends. Then, movies and Big Star {!!!}, which took about an hour to get because of the craziness of opening weekend.

Great, GREAT weekend! Hope yours was fabulous too!

good morning, monday

Busy week and busy weekend.

I'm surprised I made it through {with the exception of a long nap Sunday afternoon}. I had a fantastic weekend. I met many friends for brunch on Saturday that I haven't seen in a while. It was great catching up on vacation plans, work situations, wedding preparations and baby news! Went to my cousin's play {which I will tell you more about later}, hung out with other friends and even had time to watch Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs {cute, cute movie}. It was a fantastic weekend.

Hope this week is as good.

p.s. We went to a new {to me} restaurant on Saturday. I love doing that, even if it is just for breakfast.

happy weekend

I, for one, am incredibly happy that it is Friday. This week has just been too eventful {enjoyable, but still tiring}. I'd like to say that this weekend will be a lazy one but it's not. I am going to watch my cousin perform in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, go out for dinner and wine with other family, meet some of my bests from college for brunch and shopping and maybe even go sledding on the new-fallen snow.

Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!

happy weekend

Happy Friday! It's officially Christmas week, which means last-minute shopping trips, Christmas movie and present wrapping marathons, ugly sweater parties and overloading on peppermint fudge, cookies and eggnog. I'm so excited! I have a white elephant/ugly sweater party at a friend's tonight, brunch tomorrow and some last-minute shopping, lots of baking and wrapping planned for the rest of the weekend. And they're predicting snow!!

Happy Weekend!

happy weekend

I can't believe it's Friday already! I'm so ready for the weekend though.

Tonight I'm going to the Comedy Club with a big group of friends. I haven't been there since college when we used to go every few weeks. Then, on Saturday, we're all heading to a Badger bar in Madison {as if there were any other kind around} to watch our boys take on rival Michigan University. {Boy do I hate those Wolverines.}

Also planned: starting my Christmas shopping, brunch with family, watching the Packer-Cowboy game, coffee with a few girlfriends and a little reading {outside I hope}.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

happy weekend

Happy Weekend!

For some reason, this week seemed to go by much slower than usual. I'm not sure why-- it must be that I am so excited for the weekend.

This weekend I am driving to Madison, Wis. with friends to watch my alma mater, the University of Wisconsin Badgers, play University of Iowa in the Homecoming game. I'm really excited to "go undergrad" with my friends {many of whom are flying in from across the country}. This may be the last time that all of us can get together for a football game for a while {one of my best friends leaves for Peace Corps for two years this winter}. This is also probably the last time we'll still blend in in the student section. {We're getting old. I'm sad.}

I also have a family reunion and tickets to see Dane Cook in Milwaukee on Sunday.

Sometime this weekend I even hope to find a few minutes to sip a pumpkin spice latte and finish my book. Maybe even sleep a little.

a few things that made my weekend

... spending Saturday afternoon in Chicago with friends
laying in bed with apple cider and a book {Say You're One of Them-- great, but sad, read}
sipping mochas and chatting with the girls
making new friends
watching movies {My Life in Ruins-- not as good as it looks}
watching lots of football
grocery shopping
...and waking up on Sunday morning to coffee and this...

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Happy Weekend

What are you up to this weekend? I'm working at my friend's stand at the farmer's market, grabbing brunch with my parents, catching up on some reading at my favorite coffee shop, trying out a few new fall recipes, attempting to capture fall's beauty with my fancy camera and trying to come up with a Halloween costume idea.

Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!
