book review: water for elephants.

Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen is an absolutely entrancing book, if you're interested in a story about a prohibition era circus. The story was addictive and possessed incredible true details and descriptions of a time you never knew you wanted to learn so much about. While it was well-paced throughout most of the book, the end was rushed. It started well, painting pictures of everyday circus life but just as a true love story started unveiling itself, the author skipped past the build-up and hurried to the end. She skipped what I consider the best part of any love story: anticipation.

Overall, a great novel. I was skeptical to start reading it, but after recommendations from several friends with very different taste in literature, i decided to give it a shot. You don't have to take my word for it though, this is definitely a book to check out.
